Cambridge, Massachusetts - January 5, 2006 - Northern Light®, a provider of custom strategic research portals and enterprise, industry, and Web search engines, announced today that it has opened a new operations facility at Boston Data Centers in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The new facility will accommodate Northern Light's rapid growth and provide a reliable and secure hosting site for clients' research portals and search applications. Northern Light's operations network has over 100 servers and disk arrays crawling the Web, aggregating premium content, indexing hundreds of millions of pages of text, and delivering search results every day to hundreds of thousands of employees of Northern Light's enterprise clients.
Northern Light chose the new site at Boston Data Centers after reviewing every alternative in the greater Boston metropolitan area. David Seuss, CEO of Northern Light, said, "The new location offers many advantages. Boston Data Centers is on two separate municipal power grids � both of which have never gone down simultaneously, backup generators and batteries assure continued operation even in the even of a power-supply interruption, facility mechanical and electrical systems are excellent, the quality and helpful attitude of the facility staff and management team are superb, there are connections to six ISP's through multiple paths, and there is 24x7 onsite technical and security staff. Our enterprise clients' research applications cannot be down, ever.
